Stage Combat Fencing Workshop: Hook vs. Pan
Sunday, January 18, 2026 (1-3PM)
Ages: 11+
Teaching Artists: Marissa Drew & Lily Canter
Registration Deadline: January 16th at 4PM
Join guest artists Marissa Drew and Lily Canter as we step into Neverland for a high-energy stage combat fencing workshop inspired by the swashbuckling world of our upcoming Peter Pan and Wendy! Whether you dream of dueling like Captain Hook or darting about like the ever-fearless Peter, this workshop blends theatrical storytelling with safe, choreographed swordplay perfect for young performers.
Participants will:
Learn the basics of stage combat fencing—footwork, parries, attacks, and dramatic flourishes
Explore character-driven movement inspired by Hook’s villainous swagger and Peter’s agile heroics
Create short, thrilling fight combinations with a partner
Build confidence, teamwork, and performance skills while staying safe and having fun
No experience needed—just a sense of adventure and a willingness to shout “En garde!” Join us for an unforgettable journey where imagination takes flight, pirates clash with heroes, and every student gets the chance to shine in their own epic Neverland duel.
Note for Attire: Wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing and non-slippery shoes that you can jump and roll around in. Black preferred. Avoid super loose items (like a cardigan) or knit fabrics that the foil could snag on. If you have them, bring lightweight sports gloves.
Refund/Cancellation Policy: No refund will be processed if you cancel less than 1 week in advance. Fort Wayne Youtheatre reserves the right to cancel camps with insufficient registration. In the event of such a cancellation, all of your fees will be refunded.
